Nicole Richie and fiancé Joel Madden seemed to put rumors they are to wed this weekend to rest, after Tweeting about their locations… locations that place the couple thousands of miles apart.
After delivery trucks were seen arriving at Lionel Richie’s Beverly Hills home on Thursday (according to X17 Online), rumors flew of a possible weekend wedding for the “Dancing On The Ceiling” singer’s daughter, Nicole, and her longtime love, Good Charlotte frontman Joel.
The couple, who have two children together (daughter Harlow, 2, and son Sparrow, 15 months), confirmed their engagement in February, and are either simply not getting married this weekend — or are using Twitter to divert attention elsewhere.
“Hello Seattle,” Joel Tweeted on Friday morning, as his band arrived in the city to play a Microsoft holiday party, according to Seattle’s 106.1 KISS FM.
The Good Charlotte musician again reiterated his out-of-state location early Saturday morning when he Tweeted, “Wait so is All time low, Runner Runner, and the maine all in seattle right now??? And Good Charlotte too?? and we are not all hanging out???”
Though this is reportedly the couple’s anniversary weekend, Twitter messages between Nicole and Joel suggested that the two were on opposite coasts.
“Aaahhhhh FINALLY a proper winter,” Nicole Tweeted on Friday afternoon. “And I had to go all the way to New York to get it.”
Joel took to Twitter yet again on Saturday — apparently from the couple’s Los Angeles area base — Tweeting, “Home alone w/ my kids, Not so bad. Is there an on/off switch 4 these little things or do they just keep going? Nicole pls tweet instructions.”
Minutes later he jokingly added, “It’s ok Nicole I’m in the panic room waiting for them to tire themselves out.”
Photos of Nicole in New York have yet to surface.
As previously reported on Access Hollywood.com, the duo began dating in 2006.
Joel was previously linked to Hilary Duff, while Nicole was previously engaged to the late Adam Goldstein – aka DJ AM. However, the couple split in 2005 after a nine-month engagement.
