Nicole Richie Leaves Her Anti-Drinking Program

Nicole Richie is leaving her anti-drinking program due to her pregnancy.

The expecting mother was allowed to leave after the program suggested it
would be best for her safety, according to a report in People.

“They offer that option to anyone with a medical condition of any kind,”
Richie’s rep told People. “She is not receiving special treatment.”

On July 27, Richie pled guilty to driving under the influence of drugs and
was sentenced to four days in jail by a judge who said she was lucky nobody was
killed when she drove the wrong way on a freeway.

Richie was also ordered to enroll in a second-offender drug and alcohol
program and must prove that she completed it by Feb. 20, 2008. During the course
of her program, Nicole attends group counseling, bi-weekly face-to-face
interviews and 12 hours of alcohol education.

Nicole only spent 82 minutes behind bars.
