Nikolaj Coster-Waldau Talks ‘Game Of Thrones’ Fans

“Game of Thrones” star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau gets recognized by fans for his work playing Jaime Lannister, and he told Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson what people like to say to him when they see him out and about.

“Currently, it’s like, ‘Ah! You’ve still got your hand,’” Nikolaj told Shaun at the junket for his new film, “The Other Woman,” in Los Angeles on Friday.

Nikolaj’s character recently returned to King’s Landing, and he’s currently learning how to make do with only his left hand (after Locke cut off the right one in Season 3).

The Danish actor’s HBO show, which had a big Season 4 premiere last Sunday, has been renewed for Seasons 5 and 6, and Nikolaj shared his reaction to the news with Shaun.

“I was so happy because the thing is, I’m so happy to work with these guys and girls on this show,” he said. “We’re so lucky. We have [an] amazing crew and we only shoot five, six months a year, but most of the crew – they make sure to keep those dates free so that they can come back, so it really is quite special. And, of course, we have the main writers — Dan [Weiss] and David [Benioff] are just great guys.”

From the previews and photos released by HBO this week, it appears that Jaime’s nephew (really, his son) is headed down the aisle.

“Joffrey’s got great taste,” Nikolaj said. “He goes big!”

Another person with great taste, according to the actor? His character in “The Other Woman” – Mark, a man who has a three stunning women in his life — a wife (Leslie Mann), a girlfriend (Cameron Diaz), and another girlfriend (Kate Upton).

“He’s got good taste. You’ve gotta give him that,” the actor laughed, referring to his cheating character.

“He loves his wife dearly and he treats her really well. … He also, when he leaves home, treats a lot of other women really well. He shares love. He’s a giver,” Nikolaj said.

But when the women find out he’s been cheating on all of them, they team up for revenge.

“He thinks he’s the coolest guy ever, so there’s nothing better than to see guys like that hurt,” Nikolaj said.

“Game of Thrones” airs Sunday nights at 9 PM ET/PT on HBO. “The Other Woman” opens April 25 in theaters.
