No Charlize Theron in ‘Mad Max’ Sequel?!

This news just completely stalled our engines: Charlize Theron may not appear in the “Mad Max: Fury Road” sequel.

Director George Miller reportedly told Digital Spy that Charlize’s Imperator Furiosa character isn’t in the follow-up story.

“She’s not in the ‘Mad Max’ [sequel] story, but in one of the stories there’s an interaction between [Max and Furiosa],” he told the website, adding, that he’s “not sure” if she’ll appear at all. “I can’t really say more than that because it’s still in progress.”

George also shot down reports that the sequel will be titled “Mad Max: The Wasteland.”

“That name came out, that was just a working title,” he said. “Nico Lathouris and I wrote deep backstories on all the characters and they eventually became screenplays – so we have two [more movies].

“I’m happy to say that there’s discussions about them right now, but I hope the next film I make is a very small without any special effects and not many stunts,” he added.
