No ‘Crazy Club Thing’ For Taylor Swift’s 21st Birthday Bash

She may sing about memories of being 15, but on December 13, Taylor Swift will celebrate a milestone in the life of any American youngster – she’ll turn 21. The country cutie, however, isn’t planning a wild bash, but instead a fantastical one.

“I love having a Christmas themed birthday party so people can give each other presents at my birthday party, so it’s not so much a spotlight birthday [thing] — especially with a 21st birthday where people are like, ‘Huh? Huh? What’s she gonna do?’” Taylor explained to Access Hollywood’s Tony Potts.

“I didn’t want it to be a crazy club thing, I just want it to be very me and the me thing to do would be to have a Christmas birthday party,” she added.

Being herself has certainly worked for Taylor. Case in point? “Speak Now,” her newest album, broke sales records in its first week of release earlier this year.

“When you got the word you sold a million [copies] in a week, where were you and how did you feel?” Tony asked.

“That was just a crazy phone call to get,” Taylor said. “To have the phone call with my mom and dad on the phone and my record label president says, ‘I guess you’re my million dollar baby!’ I was like, ‘Are you serious? Are you talking in code? Are you saying what I think you’re saying, because if you’re saying that, I’m gonna need a minute.’”

“How were mom and dad?” Tony asked.

“Oh, mom was screaming, my dad was screaming. I never heard my dad scream that high pitched before,” Taylor laughed.

Adding to her already packed resume, Taylor is the new face of a new generation of makeup, CoverGirl Nature Luxe, which launches in January.

“Growing up did you ever think you would be now the face of CoverGirl?” Tony asked.

“It’s pretty crazy because I had this thing when I was younger. I was like 13 when I got a subscription to 17 Magazine and I would always flip to the CoverGirl ads. It was always sort of a childhood dream for me,” she added.
