Olivia Munn has been holding on to one desperate wish.
Is she hoping her latest movie, “Magic Mike,” will be a box office success? Perhaps praying her recently-debuted HBO series, “The Newsroom,” will wow critics and audiences alike?
Nope! The hilarious actress is merely wishing her underdress onesie snaps will remain intact.
“I don’t know if this is like telling you how the sausage is made, but this is a built-in bodysuit, which has like, snaps underneath like a baby onesie,” Olivia – who was rocking a skintight gown – told Access Hollywood’s Michelle Beadle at the ESPY Awards in Los Angeles on Wednesday. “I was hoping that ‘The Newsroom’ would do well, I was hoping ‘Magic Mike’ would do well, but I’m not hoping for anything more than the snaps on my onesie to not pop right now.”
In addition to fickle snaps in the downstairs area, Olivia’s slinky dress created upstairs challenges as well.
“We had this whole issue of like, how do we cover [my breasts] the right way? Then we [went] through a variation of nipple covers,” she said. “Some of them are shaped like a flower. I’m like, ‘Now people think that my breast is shaped as a flower.’ Then sometimes there’s like a big brown patch, so now people just think I have these like really massive, like, birthing nipples.”
Beyond wardrobe malfunction worries, the 32-year-old beauty said she is thrilled to be part of Aaron Sorkin’s “The Newsroom.”
“It’s a dream come true. It’s so fun to watch it, because when I was doing it I was so buried in everything,” Olivia, who plays Sloan Sabbith on the series, said. “I just wanted to do such a good job, so I never really let myself kind of look back and see what was happening, what they were creating.
“I’m so proud of it,” she added.
Olivia’s career good fortune is not lost on her and the actress hopes to maintain her busy schedule using old-fashioned hard work.
“It’s overwhelming in a way that I’m not really allowing myself to kind of sit back and see, because I think that, you know, success is so hard to attain and it can be so fleeting,” she said. “So I know how lucky I am, but I think I kind of want to look up, say thank you, and put my head back down and fall back into line. Just get the next job and do the next thing. It’s kind of my mentality right now.”
