On The Set With ‘High School Musical 2’s’ Vanessa Hudgens

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (August 7, 2007) – Only ten days remain until the Disney Channel premiere of “High School Musical 2.”Tens of millions of teens are expected to tune in but Access Hollywood got a sneak peek when we were invited on the set in St. George, Utah during filming. There, we witnessed a little high school romance.As Gabriella Montez, Vanessa Hudgens plays the sweetheart of “High School Musical.” Her charm and innocence helped make her a favorite among fans and won her the heart of her “Musical” co-star and “Hairspray” star on the rise, Zac Efron, in real life.

On the set in St. George, Access witnessed the affection of the two stars first hand. When they weren’t spending their time on the golf course or lounging by the pool, they were hanging with the rest of the cast at their small house. Vanessa took our cameras inside her private sanctuary.“One of my favorite things about this place is everything is controlled by the touch of a button,” she enthused.Staying in the lodgings marked 18-year-old Vanessa’s first time not living at home. Despite her success, she’s not itching to move out any time soon.“Being out there by myself made me realize how much I love being at home,” Hudgens said. “Being independent is like so scary. Being out on my own and having to cook by myself and having to do my own laundry? I’m so used to my mom doing it for me. I think I want to go home, invest in a place and maybe not move there quite yet.”
