Orange Is The New Black: Danielle Brooks’ Taystee Promoted To Series Regular For Season 2

Great news for “Orange Is the New Black’s” Poussey – she’ll be seeing a lot more of her BFF, Taystee, in Season 2!

Danielle Brooks, who plays fan favorite Tasha “Taystee” Jefferson on the Netflix original series, has been promoted to series regular for the show’s second season, AccessHollywood.com has confirmed.

Brooks is the second actress to get bumped from a recurring to regular role on “OITNB.” Taryn Manning (faux Christian disciple Tiffany “Pennsatucky” Doggett) was also made a Season 2 series regular in mid-July.

Additionally, Litchfield will be handing out another prison jumpsuit to a new inmate next season.

Lorraine Toussaint (“Friday Night Lights,” “Saving Grace”) has signed on to play Vee, the head of a street drug business who recruited children as drug runners, Netflix confirmed to Access.

The casting news was first reported by Deadline.

“Orange Is the New Black” is currently filming its highly anticipated second season. A premiere date for Season 2 has yet to be announced.
