Oscars: 6 Things We Can’t Wait To See

It’s that time of year again – the pinnacle of award shows is upon us.

On Sunday, March 2, the best and brightest of the big screen will descend on Hollywood for the Academy Awards.

Here are 6 things AccessHollywood.com can’t wait to see at the Oscars:

The Fashion: Who will dazzle us on the red carpet this year? “12 Years a Slave” star Lupita Nyong’o – who is nominated for Best Supporting Actress – has been topping our best dressed lists for 2014, so we’re looking to the 30-year-old beauty to enchant us with her couture on Sunday.

The Return Of Ellen DeGeneres: We can’t wait to see what Ellen brings to the Oscars this year. The hilarious daytime host received an Emmy award nomination for her inaugural run back in 2007. And, though it was an Emmys shtick, we can’t help but give a shout-out to Ellen’s Bjork swan dress.

Best Picture Award: With 9 amazing films nominated – “American Hustle,” “Captain Phillips,” “Dallas Buyers Club,” “Gravity,” “Her,” “Nebraska,” “Philomena,” “12 Years a Slave,” “The Wolf of Wall Street” – we are waiting with baited breath to see which movie wins the coveted award.

Musical Performances: Pink is performing. Need we say more?! We needn’t, but we will: Bette Midler is also performing. That’s reason enough to tune in.

Most Memorable Acceptance Speech: Who will give the “You like me!!” speech for the evening, bringing us back to some Sally Field 1985 awesomeness? Who will give pull a 1996 Cuba Gooding Jr. and race through their thank-yous over the play-off music? Who will pull an Adrian Brody circa 2003 and kiss their presenter? Who will drop Gwyneth Paltrow-like tears of gratitude while accepting their golden statue?

The Meryl Streep Speech Mentions: According to a recent report, Meryl, an 18-time Oscar nominee, is mentioned in acceptance speeches more often than God is thanked. With that in mind, we can’t wait to see how many stars continue this homage-to-Meryl tradition on Sunday!

The 86th Academy Awards air March 2 on ABC.
