‘Outlander’ Ratings: Starz Says 3.7 Million Tuned In For Premiere Across Platforms

Ratings are in for the series premiere of “Outlander.”

On Monday afternoon, Starz said 3.7 million people watched the premiere of the new drama, based on Diana Gabaldon’s 1991 best-selling book.

According to the network, the total was made up of those who watched the network premiere (or repeat airings) on Saturday, August 9, as well as the 1.4 million who watched the version which was available on-demand and online from August 2.

It’s interesting to note that the show had a strong showing among men. The network said 45-percent of its audience was male.

The show took the top spot in Nielsen Ratings that measured Twitter conversations about television series on Saturday.

This Saturday’s Episode 2 will be the first episode not previously available online.
