‘Outlander’ Season 3 To Premiere This Fall; Caitriona Balfe & Sam Heughan Say Goodbye To Scotland

The Season 3 premiere of “Outlander”
finally has a premiere month.

Starz announced on Wednesday that the series, from Executive
Producer Ronald D. Moore, and based on the books by Diana Gabaldon, will return
in September 2017.

And while the wait for the show’s return is longer than
expected, there’s a little video of series stars Caitriona Balfe and Sam
Heughan to help tide us over.

In the brand new video, Caitriona and Sam say goodbye and
thanks to Scotland – for now. The reason for the goodbye is because
production is moving to Cape Town, South Africa.

“Outlander” will be filming sea voyage scenes on
the sets previously occupied by the Starz series “Black Sails.”

“We’re going to Cape Town and we’re extremely
excited,” Sam says in the clip. “There’s sunshine apparently. We
don’t know what that is.”

Access Hollywood recently spoke with Luke Arnold and Hannah
New of “Black Sails,” which is now in its fourth and final season on
Starz, about their old haunt’s upcoming residents.

“They’re going to have a lot of fun,” Luke said.
“Very jealous!”

With our fantasy casting minds on, we of course suggested
there should be a cameo or crossover between the two shows (right!?!).

“I’m waiting for that promo when it’s the two ships
passing each other, kind of. Letting the ‘Outlander’ guys take over,” Luke
said.

In related “Outlander” news, Starz announced the show will head to San Diego Comic-Con this summer.

“Outlander” returns in September. “Black
Sails” airs Sunday nights at 9/8c on Starz.
