Palins Deny Affair & Divorce Rumors

Sarah Palin might have left the Governor’s seat in Alaska – but she’s not leaving her marriage.

After reports surfaced on various online blogs claiming the former Alaska Governor was splitting from husband Todd due to alleged extramarital affairs on both sides, a rep for the political figure issued a statement slamming the allegations.

“Yet again, some so-called journalists have decided to make up a story. There is no truth to the recent ‘story’ (and story is the correct term for this type of fiction) that the Palins are divorcing,” spokeswoman Meg Stapleton said in statement posted on Sarah Palin’s Facebook.

“The Palins remain married, committed to each other and their family, and have not purchased land in Montana (last week it was reported to be Long Island),” the statement continued. “Less than one week ago, Governor Palin asked the media to ‘quit making things up.’ We appreciate that the more professional journalists decided to question this story before repeating it.”

Jim Palin, Todd’s father, told People reports of the couple’s split were “nonsense.”

When asked why Sarah was spotted not wearing her wedding ring during a July 26 picnic, the former Governor’s father-in-law said she simply doesn’t wear it at times and said his son never wears his.

A Palin family acquaintance, who saw the couple recently, told the mag, they looked “as happy as ever.”

Palin stepped down from her position as Governor of Alaska on July 26.
