Paul Rudd To Star As Marvel’s Ant-Man?

Is Paul Rudd the newest Avenger?

According to The Wrap, the 44-year-old actor will shrink down – way, way down! – to play Dr. Hank Pym/Ant-Man – in the upcoming Marvel movie, “Ant-Man.”

The character, who was a member of The Avengers in the Marvel Comic Universe, has the ability to alter his size and a helmet that allows him to control ants.

Reports previously linked Joseph Gordon-Levitt to the role, but he is now reportedly working on a big screen version of the “Sandman.”

When Access Hollywood spoke to Paul last week at the “Anchorman 2” premiere, he was cagey about the reported casting, saying, “Well, you know, not everything you read on the internet is true. As hard as that is to believe.”

Representatives for Marvel and Rudd had no comment when contacted by The Wrap.

“Ant-Man,” directed by Edgar Wright is expected to hit theaters on July 31, 2015.
