Pia Toscano Dishes On Life After ‘American Idol,’ Record Deal Rumors & Mark Ballas

Pia Toscano’s shocking elimination from “American Idol” last Thursday left America stunned, but the 22-year-old big-voiced brunette told Access Hollywood on Monday that she’s staying positive and looking ahead to a “bright future.”

“I never realized I was going to get the support that I did,” Pia told Access on Monday in New York City. “I didn’t think the next day I would have 30,000 more Twitter followers and celebrities Tweeting about me. It’s just amazing… it blows me away.”

The singer said judges Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez and Randy Jackson were extremely supportive following her elimination.

“All three of them were so behind me and I really appreciate that more than anything because these are people that I have looked up to forever,” she continued. “So, it’s nice to have that support.”

Despite her dismissal from the hit FOX reality competition, Pia said she’s keeping her head up.

“You just got to stay positive, so many great opportunities are coming from this,” Pia said. “Over night you become a household name, you can’t ask for much more… I feel like there is bright future ahead, I’m definitely going to work so hard to make sure that happens.”

The busy singer denied reports that she’s already signed a record deal, saying, “I haven’t really talked much about anything like that.”

Pia is already planning for the future, however, something that includes her own music.

“I hope I have like an album out, maybe going on my own tour, you know, going to award shows, that’s been my dream since I was a little girl,” she said of her plans a year from now. “[As a kid,] the Grammys were everything. I would get dressed up to go the Grammys with my friends and I was literally just sitting in my living room.”

But has Pia’s love life also changed since leaving “Idol”? The singer stayed mum on rumors of a budding romance with “Dancing with the Stars” professional Mark Ballas.

“He’s a really, really sweet guy,” she said of Mark. “He’s a really nice guy…we’re just friends.

Last week, many Hollywood stars said they would quit watching “Idol” after the singer’s elimination, but Pia herself said she’ll be glued to all the action.

“I’m so proud of them,” she said of the remaining contestants. “I can’t wait to watch every week.”
