Pierce Brosnan Being Investigated For Alleged Battery

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (October 31, 2007) — Authorities are investigating Pierce Brosnan for allegedly committing battery, Access Hollywood has learned.

Steve Whitmore of the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department confirmed to Access there is an ongoing investigation against the former Bond star regarding an alleged battery of a man outside Casa Escobar in Malibu last Friday.

Whitmore said the alleged incident occurred around 6:15PM.

The case is being handed to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office for review.

No other details were being released at this time, Whitmore said.

Brosnan’s film credits include “After the Sunset,” “Laws of Attraction,” “The Thomas Crown Affair” and the James Bond films “Die Another Day,” “The World Is Not Enough,” “Tomorrow Never Dies” and “GoldenEye.”

Brosnan will next be seen on the big screen in the musical comedy “Mamma Mia,” alongside Meryl Streep and Colin Firth.

Access Hollywood was unable to reach a rep for Brosnan for comment.
