Piers Morgan On Jerry Seinfeld’s Royal Wedding Remarks: ‘He’s Obviously Lost All Touch With His Romantic Side’

Piers Morgan has branded Jerry Seinfeld’s recent remarks about the royal wedding as a case of the comedian simply being “jealous.”

“He’s just jealous because he doesn’t have a royal family in this country. He wants one,” Piers told Access Hollywood on Friday, at NBC Universal’s Summer Press Day after the “America’s Got Talent” panel, when asked about Jerry’s reported remarks to the UK’s “Daybreak” program, where he branded the big event a “circus.”

“He’s obviously lost all touch with his romantic side,” Piers added when Access read him some of Jerry’s reported comments, where the comedian said all of the William & Kate hubbub was simply “dress-up.”

Aware that Jerry’s comments may have been made in jest, Piers suggested the remarks might not be Jerry’s funniest.

“He’s OK. He’s had better years. If this is where he’s got to now, maybe he should hang up his comedic boots,” Piers told Access. “The royal family’s the greatest family in the world. It’s going to be the greatest day on earth.”

Still, Piers did think Jerry could be a worthwhile television companion on April 29, when the TV talker/reality judge co-anchors the CNN desk from London for the wedding.

“Tell Jerry Seinfeld to come along and we’ll use him as a co-commentator,” he added.
