Piers Morgan Scoops Anderson Cooper, Releases Mitch Winehouse Interview Clip Ahead Of Cooper’s Exclusive

He was previously a tabloid editor, so Piers Morgan knows a thing or two about how to scoop someone, and it appears he’s just done it to his CNN colleague, Anderson Cooper.

On Wednesday, a clip was released of Piers’ upcoming CNN interview with Mitch Winehouse, the father of the late Amy Winehouse, which will air next Tuesday on “Piers Morgan Tonight,” one day after Anderson’s exclusive sitdown with Amy’s family for his new show, “Anderson.”

In the short clip, Mitch admitted to Piers that he continues to mourn the death of his daughter, who died on July 23 at the age of 27.

“She had so many qualities and so many frailties, but she was a wonderful, wonderful girl a wonderful friend,” Mitch said. “All of the nonsense that was written about her in the papers over the last five or six years, it’s all gone now. Everybody is full of love and admiration for her, as she was — she was full of love, even for people that didn’t deserve it. I just wish she was here so we could give her a cuddle.”

While Piers released the first clip, Anderson still has plenty coming for his premiere episode of his daytime talk show.

He will sit down not only with Mitch, but with Mitch’s wife, Jane, Amy’s mother, Janis, and the singer’s on/off boyfriend, Reg Travis.

“I’m really looking forward to speaking with Amy Winehouse’s family. They’ve been through so much, and her talent was so great,” Cooper Tweeted earlier this week.
