Piers Morgan Talks Engagement, His ‘Breeding Machine’ & Susan Boyle

Piers Morgan is newly engaged and he revealed he took his ladylove to the city of lights in order to propose.

On Tuesday, Piers explained to Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush for Access and “The Billy Bush Show” exactly how his proposal in Paris — to 33-year-old British journalist Celia Walden — went down.

“We were in Paris — she was born in Paris, she was raised in Paris, it was all very romantic,” Piers told Billy. “We had a lovely day and I used the great American novelist John Updike to actually do the proposal because he’s her favorite author.

“He wrote a book a few years before he died called ‘Marry Me,’ so I found a first edition of ‘Marry Me’ and I gave it to her as a birthday present,” he continued. “And when she opened it she found out that I’d finally done the decent thing.”

The “America’s Got Talent” judge revealed it will be a summer wedding for the couple, who’ve been dating for four years.

“We’ve been together four years and we’re very happy and… looking forward to a nice wedding in the summer in England,” he said. “It’ll be in a marquee in torrential rain as [is] normal [in the] English summer.”

Piers has three sons from his first marriage, but when asked if the newly betrothed plan to have more kids, the reality judge show said they just might.

“Well I think, you know, she’s certainly young enough to be used as a breeding machine and I will be discussing this with her in due course,” he laughed.

While babies may be a ways off, Piers’ immediate plans are to suit up his fiancee with an engagement ring, if the weather allows.

“She was due to come out here to [New York to] help me get her a ring, but unfortunately London is under 16 inches of snow, so her flight was canceled,” he said.

While Piers is thrilled Celia said yes, when asked how Susan Boyle, who famously admitted to having a crush on the judge last year, feels about it, Piers said time will tell.

“I don’t know how Susan’s taken the news of engagement, but I saw Susan before Christmas actually and we were laughing about Celia… and Susan was saying, ‘I’m gonna deal with my love rival!’” Piers laughed. “But she had a twinkle in her eye and a smile on her face. And she, she knows it’s all a bit of a joke.”
