‘Pink’ Saturday! Nicki Minaj Set To Take Over ‘Saturday Night Live’ With Host Jesse Eisenberg

Nicki Minaj’s debut album, “Pink Friday,” is flying off of shelves and now she’s headed to 30 Rockefeller Center to perform on “Saturday Night Live” – a dream she didn’t think would ever materialize for a “female rapper.”

“It’s like no, no this doesn’t even happen — I’m a female rapper — it’s like, not even supposed to happen to female rappers,” Nicki told Access Hollywood during a rehearsal for her “SNL” performance on Thursday. “It’s like, I’m already on the bottom of the totem pole and this just makes me feel like, whoa, dreams come true, you know?

“I watched ‘SNL’ forever — who didn’t?” she added. “So, to be here is an incredible thing.”

Nicki will perform her hits “Right Through Me” and “Moment For Life” on Saturday’s show, but is not slated to join the cast during any sketches — as of yet. However, the 26-year-old star revealed she’s been a fan of the show’s “Weekend Update” segment for years.

“I always like when they do the news because I remember when I was little I wanted to do that… I always wanted to dress up in a little suit,” Nicki told Access. “I mean, that was always my favorite because they had to keep a straight face and act like one of those news reporters and I thought it was like, hilarious.”

In addition to taking over the “SNL” stage, the creatively-coiffed rapper recently wrapped production on her self-proclaimed “best [music] video to date” — a collaboration with Rihanna for the pair’s song, “Fly.”

“I’m just so excited for people to finally see that,” Nicki told Access. “Working with Rihanna was a dream come true, obviously. I’ve always looked up to her and love her music, love her style and all that stuff and then to do this record together… I also did a record for her album but to have her on my album was just like, so intense because she’s a big deal.

“This video just embodies who I am right now,” Nicki added. “I think all the other videos are old Nicki and this one is like, futuristic crazy.”
