Two police chiefs allegedly involved in a break-in at the home of a surrogate mother carrying Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick’s twin girls have been arrested, WTRF 7 News in Ohio reported.
Another man, Bruce Callarik, whose connection to the case is currently unclear, was reportedly booked and released along with police chiefs Barry Carpenter and Chad Dojack. The actions were taken after a grand jury heard evidence from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation. Charges pressed against them have not been reported as yet. WTRF further reported that a court date for the police chiefs is set for 8:15 AM on Friday.
According to The Associated Press, the investigation into the two men concluded last week.
The police chiefs allegedly broke into the surrogate’s home in May in an effort to sell information on the stars to a tabloid.
The surrogate gave birth to twins Marion Loretta Elwell and Tabitha Hodge in Martins Ferry, Ohio, in June. Sarah and Matthew also have a six-year-old son, James Wilkie.
“Well, you know, we’ve been trying to expand our family for a number of years and we actually have explored a variety of ways of doing so,” Sarah previously told Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush about the decision to use a surrogate. “This was one of the things we discussed with seriousness that had real possibilities for us.”
