Police Swarm Ashton Kutcher’s Home Following Distress Call; Was It ‘Swatting’?

Police officers responded to a call for help that they thought originated from the home of Ashton Kutcher on Wednesday, KNBC reported.

A spokesperson for the LAPD told Access Hollywood that they received a call around 11:08 AM PST regarding a possible burglary.

The call came from a woman who claimed to be hiding in the closet of the home. The LAPD spokesperson told Access the woman believed a person or persons were trying to enter the home.

According to KNBC, two teams of police were spotted on site at the home.

The spokesperson told Access three men were detained, but it was not immediately clear if they were involved in a crime or just workers who were doing construction on the home.

Back in August, Miley Cyrus’ was suspected to be the victim of a “swatting” prank, when the authorities were called to her home following report of a disturbance, only to find no signs of trouble.

“Swatting” occurs when a fake distress call is made and emergency services are dispatched to the scene as a prank.

In related news, Miley recently filmed a guest spot on Ashton’s CBS comedy, “Two and a Half Men.”

Ashton didn’t seem to be too worried by the news. Later in the day, he posted a Tweet simply stating, “Safe an sound at two and half men. Don’t miss tomorrow night 8:30,” along with a photo from the set of Jon Cryer, Angus T. Young and Miley.
