‘Pretty Little Liars’ Finale: ‘A’ Is Revealed!

The shocking summer finale of “Pretty Little Liars” marked the end of an era as “A’s” identity was finally revealed!

Here’s a breakdown of PLL’s biggest reveals, as the Liars went face-to-face with “A.”

(WARNING: Major spoilers ahead if you haven’t watched yet… obviously!)

(‘Pretty Little Liars’ – ABC Family)

‘A’ Is… CeCe Drake!

Yep, Ali’s look-a-like, CeCe, was hooded “A” all along! But the girls were right in their season 5B discovery – “A” is also Charles DiLaurentis.

Still with us? CeCe was born Charles, twin brother to Jason. Her parents knew from a young age that Charles was transgender. When she nearly drowned an infant Alison in the bathtub on accident, her father used that as an excuse to enlist her in Radley Sanitarium.

At Radley, Charles eventually transitioned into Charlotte as a teenager – a secret she only shared with her mother.

Mrs. DiLaurentis later had a funeral for Charles, so the rest of their family would think he was gone for good.

Bethany Killed Mrs. Cavanaugh

Charles and Bethany became friends at Radley, bonding over being different. One night, they were talking on the rooftop when Bethany purposefully pushed Toby’s mom off the roof, killing her.

Bethany pinned her death on Charles, but Mrs. DiLaurentis paid Officer Wilden to rule the death a suicide.

CeCe Dated Her Brother, Jason

Because of her good grades, Charlotte was allowed to attend public school. There, she charmed Jason DiLaurentis – her twin brother!

Charlotte introduced herself to him as CeCe Drake, a new student at school. The two ultimately started dating – even kissing!!! – much to the horror of their mother (and PLL fans everywhere!)

Mrs. DiLaurentis kept the secret to herself, however, not letting anyone know CeCe’s real identity.

CeCe Was Responsible For Ali’s Disappearance

Remember PLL’s pilot episode where Alison was thought to be murdered during the Liars’ slumber party? Well, the answer to who was responsible for that is pretty complicated.

Seeking revenge against CeCe’s mother for covering up the murder of Mrs. Cavanaugh, Bethany stole her clothes to sneak out of Radley.

CeCe followed her to her family’s home, where she attacked her with a rock. Only, it wasn’t Bethany… it was Alison!

Mrs. DiLaurentis watched the whole thing go down, and helped CeCe bury Ali’s body in order to protect her. What a family, huh?!?

Mona Murdered Bethany The Same Night

While Ali ended up surviving the ordeal, Bethany did not. It turns out that Mona, original “A,” set out to murder Alison that night. It was another mistaken identity, however, as she accidentally murdered Bethany instead.

Apparently it’s really dangerous to be a petite blond in Rosewood!

Mona Teamed Up with CeCe in Radley

Remember when Mona was sent to Radley after she was caught “A”-handed? It was there CeCe took over the “A”-game.

A drug induced Mona believed CeCe was Alison, so she divulged everything she learned while stalking them.

CeCe decided to play along once Mona revealed how much the girls originally hated Alison in an effort to protect her

Sara Harvey is Red Coat & Black Widow

Sara, who was thought to have been held captive by “A” for years, was both Red Coat AND Black Widow. She kept tabs on the Liars for CeCe, and even killed Officer Wilden for her. Friendship goals?

It’s Not Over

We now know “A’s” identity, but Rosewood still isn’t safe for the Liars.

Five years pass when the Liars return to Rosewood. There, they warn Alison that “He” is coming for her.

Here we go again….
