Prince Harry May Return To Combat In Afghanistan

Is Prince Harry headed back to combat in Afghanistan?

According to multiple reports out of Britain, Harry could be deployed again when his squadron returns to Afghanistan next year.

Prince Harry previously served in the Helmand province of the war-torn country in 2008, but was removed after the media compromised his location.

“Harry is an army pilot and will deploy wherever the army chooses to send him. His course finishes in 2012 and after that his deployment will be a matter for the army chain of command,” a spokesperson for the Clarence House said in a statement to Britain’s The Guardian.

Britain’s Ministry of Defence stayed mum on the topic, saying, “We cannot comment on the deployment of individual service personnel.”

The 23-year-old Royal, who recently qualified as an Apache helicopter pilot, was asked about his military aspirations in March.

“My goal is to serve my country like everybody else in the British forces,” Prince Harry said at the time, according to the Guardian.

According to the Telegraph, Harry’s deployment could come as early as summer 2012.
