Quincy Jones Joins Spielberg, Lee On Olympics Committee

LOS ANGELES (October 24, 2006) — Quincy Jones has joined Steven Spielberg and Ang Lee as an adviser on the opening and closing ceremonies for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

The Grammy-winning composer-conductor was named culture and art consultant, his publicist, Arnold Robinson, said Monday.

Spielberg and Lee were previously announced as Beijing Olympic Committee advisers for the creation of the opening and closing ceremonies.

Jones, 73, will also compose an original song for the Beijing Games, Robinson said.
