Rainn Wilson Hints Report Of An ‘Office’ Spinoff For Dwight Schrute Are False

Is Rainn Wilson leaving “The Office” for (literally) greener pastures?

According to a report by Deadline, the actor could soon be starring in a spinoff based on his scheming “The Office” character, Dwight Schrute, and the Schrute family’s farm-based business.

The proposed show – reportedly created by Rainn and “The Office” show runner/executive producer Paul Lieberstein (who also plays bumbling HR rep Toby Flenderson on the show) — would feature Dwight living at his family’s beet farm and running the Schrute family bed and breakfast, according to the site.

While no deals have been closed as of yet, Deadline reports the comedy would shoot for a midseason 2013 launch.

Despite the detailed report, Rainn seemed to shoot down the news in a cryptic message posted on his Twitter page.

“Don’t believe everything you read in the press, ok?” he Tweeted on Wednesday.

A rep for the network was not immediately available for comment on the reported spinoff when contacted by Access Hollywood on Thursday.
