Randy Jackson: ‘Anybody Can Take This & Win’ On Season 12 Of ‘Idol’

The Dawg has spoken… and he thinks the title of the next “American Idol” is “anybody’s thing” at this point in the competition.

“It could be [male-dominated], man. The girls are very special too,” Randy told Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson at the 42nd NAACP Image Awards in LA on Saturday. “As I looked at them, the whole Top 13, I’m like, ‘Yo, you know what? It’s anybody’s thing.’ Anybody can take this and win this. So, it’s hot!”

Sean “Diddy” Combs will visit the Season 10 “American Idol” set in April to perform and coach the contestants on their swagger – something Randy also thinks will be “hot.”

“[Diddy] is coming on and he’s going to perform, he’s going help mentor them — I think he may even help dress them a little bit or something,” Randy told Shaun. “So, it’s going to be hot.”

Randy also revealed he still speaks to his old pal and “Idol” judging buddy, Simon Cowell, who is gearing up to launch his own show – “The X Factor.”

“I talk to him every couple of weeks, “ Randy told Shaun of his friend from across the pond. “We stay in touch – he’s one of my dearest friends in life. He’s prepping his show that’s going to come on in September, ‘The X Factor’ over here.

“He’s happy for us,” Randy continued. “He’s happy that it worked. I know he misses me! But, he’s happy. He says I miss him, but he misses me too.”
