Reactions To The Passing Of Anna Nicole Pour In

LOS ANGELES (February 8, 2007) — Reactions are pouring in following the death earlier today of Anna Nicole Smith.

“PETA is extremely upset by the news of Anna Nicole Smith?s untimely death. She was a great friend to animals and used every opportunity to speak out against senseless cruelty,” they wrote. “We always thought Anna Nicole was a perfect fit for PETA because, just like us, she not only hated cruelty to animals and loved her dog but also couldn?t be ignored, and no matter what people thought of her, they always had an opinion, one way or another . . . It is a tragedy when anyone passes away before their time, but with Anna Nicole, animals have lost a true hero and PETA has lost a good friend. We will miss her.”
?Today, Anna Nicole Smith?s grief stricken and tumultuous personal life came to an end. Anna came to our Company as a customer, but she departs it as a friend. While life for Anna Nicole was not easy these past few months, she held dear her husband, Howard K. Stern, her daughter, Dannielynn Hope, her most cherished friends, beloved dogs, and finally, her work with TrimSpa. Anna knew both the joy of giving life, and the heartache of losing a child. We pray that she is granted the peace that eluded her more recent days on earth, and that she find comfort in the presence of her son, Daniel.” — TrimSpa founder and CEO Alex Goen
?I am very saddened to learn about Anna Nicole?s passing,” he said. “She was a dear friend who meant a great deal to the Playboy family and to me personally. My thoughts and prayers are with her friends and loved ones during this difficult time.? –Hugh Hefner

“Poor Anna Nicole. She’s been the underdog. She’s been besieged … and she’s been trying her best and nobody should have to endure what she’s endured.” — Smith’s attorney, Ron Rale

“For those of us who worked closely with Anna Nicole and got to know the woman behind the public persona, this is devastating news. She was a sweet person who adored her son, made us laugh and cry with her, and who was never afraid of what others may have thought of her. There will never be another like her, and I already miss her.” — Jeff Shore, head of E! Studios.

“From my professional exposure to Anna Nicole, I can say she was always personable, down to earth and driven. All in all, a joy to have as a client.” — Wayne Munroe, Smith’s Bahamian lawyer who has overseen the aftermath of her son’s mysterious death in Nassau.

?Is that true? It is a loss of a life. She was a true beauty and she dealt with all the difficultness of being famous. I don’t have a great comment. I think that’s probably [reserved for somebody] who would know her better. It is obviously a loss I feel bad about that, really bad about that.? ? Kevin Costner

?I met her a few times she was always very nice. Obviously [she was] troubled. It is unfortunate. She lost her son, she just had a baby so you know our hearts go out to her just as a human being and to her family and to her friends. The times that [I saw her over the years she was] very sweet and very warm.? ? George Lopez
?I was absolutely shocked. I’m very sad for the little baby. I was just saying she was obsessed with Marilyn Monroe and she’s almost fulfilled this terrible ideal of how a movie star — oh, I don’t know. I was completely thrown.? ? Sara Wynter
?It is very sad. My heart goes out to her newborn child. I know she’s had a very difficult time and my heart goes out to her family and friends. It’s a very tragic circumstance.? ? Jada Pinkett-Smith
?I was heart broken not only for her but for her baby and her family. And I just think it’s needless. I wish I would have done something to help her. There’s just different things I feel I could have done. [I didn?t know her] very well at all but you know your heart goes out. She [seemed] like such a sweet person who perhaps didn’t have people with the best interests for her around her sometimes. It’s sad, very sad.?
?I felt really sad. I don’t know much about her . . . but it’s always sad when somebody dies young and, in any kind of tragic circumstances, especially this tragedy she suffered recently. I felt very sad for her. ? ? Christina Ricci
?I’m just shocked and dismayed and saddened. The tragedy that has fallen on her has just been unbelievable and my prayers are with everybody who did know her more personally then I ever did.? ? Brooke Shields
?It is sad. She’s so young and she just had a baby and just lost another baby . . . I’m still shocked. I got off the plane and someone told me and I said ‘Get out of here!’ I thought they were playing but you know I mean it’s tragic . . . I just pray for her and her family. Hope that they are ok. I pray for that little baby.? ? Marlon Wayans
?It just completely devastated me [and] broke my heart . . . I just completely broke down ?cause I feel a kinship with her . . . I said I am not going to stay home and I am not going to cry. She would not want me to ruin my makeup. Makeup was very important to us. She would just say ?Do it up right girl! You go do it for me,? and that is why I am here tonight.? ? Cindy Margolis at the ?Norbit? premiere 2/8/07
?It?s very, very sad, very sad.? ? Tyra Banks
