Red Carpet Ready Hair: Tips For The Perfect ‘Do

We’re smack in the middle of award show season and Access Hollywood went to the experts at Clear Scalp & Hair Beauty Therapy for tips on how to get red carpet ready.

The brushed out wave look is a favorite of actress — and Clear spokesperson — Odette Annable’s.

Clear hairstylist Jen Atkin explained how to achieve the look. But, Odette noted that award season perfection actually begins before even hitting the stylist’s chair.

“I think [it] is really important to take care of yourself [before] the red carpet,” she told Access. “I like to eat a nice big healthy breakfast and really moisturize my skin and body. I love to do the same with my hair and that’s why Clear Scalp & Hair Beauty Therapy works so nicely because it builds that right foundation for strong beautiful hair.”

To achieve the ‘do – start with a side part.

Then curl the hair with a one-inch iron.

“Hold it vertically,” Jen said of the iron. “And basically, just take your hair and wrap it around. Get nice tension and you’re gonna hold it for 10 seconds.”

Jen then used a boar bristle brush and brushed out the curl a bit to give it more bounce.

“I love it,” Odette said, when she saw the look on the model. “It’s old Hollywood, but it’s modern old Hollywood.”

Another of Odette’s favorite red carpet looks? A sleek up ‘do.

Start this look by making a ponytail.

Wrap it into a bun and pull a little bit of hair out.

Secure it with pins and use a curling iron on the hair in front.

“These are the exact tools that can damage your hair and that’s why I decided to take the Clear 7 Day Scalp & Hair Challenge for stronger, more beautiful hair,” Odette said.
