Reese Witherspoon ‘Resting’ After Being Struck By Car In LA; Incident Described As ‘Minor’

Reese Witherspooon is resting at home after being struck by a vehicle on Wednesday while she was on a run.

Captain Judah Mitchell of the Santa Monica Police Department told Access Hollywood that the actress was hit by a car while jogging in the beachside town near Los Angeles.

According to authorities, the incident occurred around 11 AM at the intersection of 20th Street and Georgina Avenue, when an 84-year-old female resident of Santa Monica struck the actress.

Reese “suffered minor injuries” from the accident.

Following the incident, she was taken to a local hospital, Capt. Mitchell confirmed to Access.

The unidentified driver was interviewed on the scene and released. She was cited for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

A rep for the actress released a statement to Access noting the actress was “not seriously injured” during the incident. The spokesperson’s statement also noted that Reese is now “resting comfortably at home.”
