Rep: Rihanna & Chris Brown’s Stay At Same NYC Hotel A ‘Coincidence’

Ben Affleck & Jennifer Garner Reunite In Hawaii For Easter With Their Kids

Rihanna and Chris Brown stayed at the same hotel in New York City over the weekend, but it was merely a “coincidence,” a rep for the “Umbrella” star said.

Numerous online reports surfaced over the weekend that Rihanna and Brown had both checked into separate rooms at Trump International Hotel & Tower on Friday. And while rumors circulated that the two had rekindled a romance (something which would violate terms of Brown’s felony plea agreement in Los Angeles, which requires the two to stay at least 50 yards away from each other, 10 yards at industry events), the former couple were not there together, a rep for the star told Access Hollywood.

“This was a coincidence,” Rihanna’s rep told Access. “She’s stayed there before as have thousands of other people.”

In fact, Rihanna was spotted with another singer over the weekend – her pal Katy Perry. The two stepped out for dinner on Friday night before heading out clubbing.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Brown pleaded guilty to felony assault last month in a Los Angeles courtroom, stemming from an incident in February 2009 that sent Rihanna to a hospital.

As a result of a plea deal, Brown was sentenced to five years probation, enrollment in a domestic violence counseling program and 180 days in a labor program in his home state of Virginia.

Last week Brown issued a public apology via his channel on YouTube.

“I have started and I am continuing to seek help to ensure that what occurred in February can never happen again,” he said. “And as I sit here today, I can tell you that I will do everything in my power to make sure that it never happens again — and I promise that.

“What I did was unacceptable – 100 percent,” he continued. “I can only ask and pray that you forgive me, please.”
