Report: Coroner Says Simon Monjack Died Of Pneumonia, Severe Anemia

Simon Monjack died from pneumonia and severe anemia, the Los Angeles County Coroner reportedly told Radar Online – the same afflictions suffered by his late wife, Brittany Murphy.

As previously reported by AccessHollywood.com, Mojack, 40, was found dead on May 23. Brittany, 32, the star such films as “Clueless” and “8 Mile,” passed away just months earlier, on December 20, 2009. The actress’ cause of death also included multiple drug intoxication (including prescription medications, not illegal drugs) and was officially ruled an accident.

The two were buried next to each other in LA. Monjack was a writer, producer and photographer who often took portraits of his wife and worked on films including “Two Days, Nine Lives” and “Factory Girl.”

In March, during his final taped interview, Monjack told Access he was still mourning Brittany’s loss.

“I’m still grieving pretty heavily and pretty badly,” he said at the time. “I have a tough exterior but inside it’s tough, you know.”
