Report: Jenny McCarthy Singles Out NBC For New Show

Jenny McCarthy is reportedly heading to NBC.

On Thursday, FOX411.com reported that the actress was taking a project she was originally working on developing with Oprah’s Harpo production company to the Peacock.

While the report stated the show was initially slated to head to the Oprah Winfrey Network, a rep for OWN told Access Hollywood the project was never in the works for the cable channel.

“There were never any plans to do a show with Jenny McCarthy for OWN. Harpo Studios was working with her to develop a potential syndicated series,” the rep said. “They mutually agreed not to move forward with the project and we all wish her well.”

A source – who appeared to believe that Jenny’s project was with OWN specifically — told FOX411 that the star and autism activist wasn’t “thrilled with the direction that OWN producers were going with on the show.”

“She had been working with Oprah and her producers for over a year, developing this project for OWN. Jenny finally decided to embrace Oprah’s philosophy, which is to ‘follow your bliss.’ Well, Jenny followed her bliss and walked right off the project,” the source claimed to FOX411.

News that Jenny was working on what was originally described as a talk show with Oprah herself first surfaced back in May 2009.

NBCUniversal, the parent company of Access Hollywood, does not comment on projects in development.
