Kanye West was arrested in the U.K. early Friday, according to reports by British media.
West was arrested at a hotel in Gateshead, England on Friday morning, after an alleged incident with a photographer outside a U.K. nightclub a few hours earlier.
Although the rapper was arrested, after a brief investigation, police said they would not charge West, according to the Press Association.
When contacted by Access Hollywood, a spokesperson for the Northumbria Police said “a 31-year-old was arrested on suspicion of assault in the early hours of this morning at a Newcastle City Center Nightclub. He was released w/out being charged.”
They would not confirm West’s identity.
TMZ claims to have spoken with the photographer, following the incident. The photographer claims Kanye was upset about being photographed leaving the Tup Tup nightclub and allegedly shoved the camera into the photographer’s face, causing a cut on his nose.
When contacted by Access Hollywood, a rep for West wasn’t immediately avaialble for comment.
