Report: MTV Still Planning To Air DJ AM Intervention Reality Series

MTV is still moving forward with plans to air its intervention-style reality show featuring the late DJ AM, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, production on “Gone Too Far” was completed just three days before DJ AM – whose real name was Adam Goldstein – was found dead in his New York City apartment at the age of 36.

When contacted by Access Hollywood, a rep for the network said “no decisions have been made yet.” However, sources reportedly told The Hollywood Reporter that MTV has been in talks with DJ AM’s family and is still planning to air the series.

“Gone Too Far” showcases DJ AM as the once-addicted and now sober guide helping other people through the battles with drug dependencies. In helping get others off drugs, DJ AM had sought the assistance of an addiction specialist, who was going to be present with him throughout the series.

The series was originally slated to debut on October 5, 2009.

While toxicology reports have yet to be released, earlier this month, People reported the celebrity DJ had ingested eight OxyContin pills and had a ninth in his mouth when he was found dead.

According to People’s law enforcement source, the nine pills suggest that DJ AM took his own life.

“He wanted to die,” the law enforcement source told the mag. “He was going unconscious when he took the last one. He didn’t even swallow it.”
