Report: MTV To Revive ‘Punk’d’ With Justin Bieber As Host

Move over Ashton, there may be a new “Punk’d” king – Justin Bieber!

MTV is reportedly bringing back the celebrity prank show with The Biebs lined up as the new host, according to New York Magazine’s Vulture blog.

However, Ashton wouldn’t completely turn over the reigns to the show. Ashton would reportedly stay on as executive producer, after hosting the show and executive producing during its four-year run, which began in 2003.

If the deal goes through, it’s likely that Bieber would not only be hosting the show, but also be involved in some of the pranks – at least, early on.

When contacted by Access Hollywood, a spokesperson for MTV had no comment on the report. A rep for Bieber wasn’t immediately available for comment.

Luckily for MTV, Bieber already has shown a knack for pranking.

In June, Miley Cyrus told Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush that she had been on the receiving end of some of the “Baby” singer’s prank calls.

“It sounded like a little kid,” Miley told Billy at the time of The Biebs’ phone call hijinks. “I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, I am so mad.’ Then I get a text, he’s like, ‘Ha ha.’”

The series finale of “Punk’d” aired in May 2007.
