Revenge Shocker: Ashley Madekwe Out For Season 3

Ashley Davenport’s days of scheming on “Revenge” are over.

Ashley Madekwe, who plays the social climber Hamptonite on the ABC drama, has revealed she will not be back for the show’s third season.

“Yes it’s true I’m leaving ‘Revenge,’” the actress Tweeted on Friday, confirming a report by Deadline. “I’ve LOVED playing Ashley Davenport but after 2 seasons there is no longer a story left for me to tell…

“I wasn’t going to say anything as I didn’t want to ruin the story for the lovely Revengers but as it’s been leaked anyway…” she added.

The actress, whose character was last seen working PR for Conrad Grayson’s Governor campaign (while aiding Jack Porter’s plan to sabotage the wealthy family on the side) on the Season 2 finale, said the show’s scribes have yet to decide how Ashley will be written out of the plot.

“The ‘Revenge’ writers are trying to come up with an exit story for Davenport and I will of course play that out for you all,” she wrote, adding an idea for her character’s ending. “My preference is that Ashley Davenport dies in a blaze of glory. Preferable whilst wearing Valentino couture…. Or Chanel. I’m not fussy.”

In addition to Ashley’s exit, another major character met his end on “Revenge’s” Season 2 finale. Declan Porter (played by Connor Paolo) died in the hospital due to injuries from a bomb blast, leaving pregnant girlfriend Charlotte Grayson (Christa B. Allen) on her own.

“Revenge” will return in the fall on ABC.
