Ricki Lake & Derek Hough Hoping To Stay On ‘Dancing With The Stars’

Ricki Lake fell from the top of the leaderboard on Monday night’s “Dancing with the Stars” all the way into fourth place, but the actress knew the low scores were coming.

“I’m going to take it,” Ricki told Access Hollywood on Monday, of her fourth place finish with professional dance partner, Derek Hough. “I think I put a lot of pressure [on myself following] last week. I keep wanting to get better, and it’s hard to improve on what we did last week. I got a little nervous, and my Roger Rabbit? I blew it. Hopefully we’ll come back next week and prove ourselves again.”

The judges criticized Ricki and Derek’s Roger Rabbit moves, which they said didn’t fit and was off the beat. Derek, however, stands by putting the steps in their Monday night routine.

“I felt like it was ‘80s week,” he told Access. “I thought, ‘If we’re going to do ‘80s, we have to put some 80’s moves in there.’ Let’s commit, people.”

If the pair makes it through to Week 6, they plan to speed things up.

“We’re doing quickstep if we make it next week,” Derek said of their planned Broadway Week dance. “We’ll see how it goes.”
