Rob Kardashian On His ‘Dark Days’ & Why He Missed Kim & Kanye’s Wedding

Rob
Kardashian has revealed the personal reason he skipped his sister’s wedding.

The
reality star tells People in a new cover interview that he didn’t attend Kim
Kardashian and Kanye West’s European nuptials in 2014 because he was feeling
insecure about his weight.

“I
was doing my suit fittings in Paris right before the wedding and I just wasn’t
comfortable,” the 29-year-old said. “I’m 6’1” and at my most I
probably weighed 300 lbs.”

Rob
went on to say that despite making the overseas trip for the occasion, he
ultimately decided to step aside once he got a glimpse of the paparazzi photos
taken during his travels.

“There
were cameras at the airport on our trip there and I was very unhappy with the
person I saw in all the pictures,” he explained. “I’m upset I missed
my sister’s wedding but it was a personal decision.”

Rob’s
struggles caused him to miss out on more than just Kim and Kanye’s big day. The
mag reports that his family went on to celebrate holidays, birthdays and go on
vacation together without him.

“I
wasn’t happy with myself so I didn’t want my family to see me that way,”
Rob said of his isolation, which included staying away from the “Keeping
Up with the Kardashians” cameras.

“I’m
very good at disappearing,” he added.

Although
Rob’s sister Khloé has encouraged him to embrace a
healthier lifestyle following her own 40-pound slimdown, he admitted they
“butt heads” over how he should best move forward.

“She’s
all about, ‘your biggest revenge is your body,'” Rob said of Khloé’s advice.
“And I’m trying to find happiness in my own way.”

Rob
does have two major milestones on the horizon – his own wedding to fiancée Blac
Chyna, and the birth of their first child. The couple’s road to the altar and
parenthood is being chronicled for their upcoming six-part docuseries “Rob
& Chyna,” set to premiere on E! Sept. 11.

While
Rob admits that his seclusion “definitely hurt a lot of people” and
he’s “still not fully happy” with his appearance, he told the mag
he’s now “working towards” self-acceptance and re-entering the family
fold.

“The
way I dealt with my issues maybe wasn’t the best,” he acknowledged.
“But nobody can make me happy but me. Now I want to see everybody in my
family every chance I get.”
