Robert Pattinson: I Like Reading People’s Diaries

Robert Pattinson admitted he is intrigued by the personal ramblings of people he doesn’t even know.

“Most people don’t find other people’s dreams interesting. But sometimes, if you know the person, it’s kind of interesting. I find listening to people’s [dreams] interesting, even if I don’t know them. I also like reading their diaries [laughs],” Robert laughed, while discussing his new film, “Cosmopolis,” with Moviefone.

The actor has admitted it’s tough to describe his new drama, about a billionaire asset manager’s unique limo ride across a city, where he encounters a host of odd characters – to others.

In fact, when asked if doing “Cosmopolis” gave him a better understanding of director David Cronenberg’sm notoriously artistic previous works, like the 1983 horror film “Videodrome,” Robert admitted he doesn’t always interpret things correctly the first time around.

“In terms of understanding it, I don’t know. I mean, I get weird things,” he told Moviefone. “I am an expert at reading things wrong. I will take the opposite interpretation, even when something is blatantly obvious, especially with scripts. The amount of times I’ve gone into an audition for something, I will be like, ‘The guy’s the bad guy, right?’ And they’re like, no, it’s ‘The Notebook.’”
