Royal Roundup: Kate Middleton’s Wedding Fears & Bridesmaid Pippa’s After Party Palace Problems

The Abbey is closed, Kate’s having a very scary pre-wedding dream and the younger Middleton sister is apparently causing outrage with the Palace staff over her party preparations… All this and more in today’s Royal Roundup!

Kate’s “Dreamy” Wardrobe Malfunction? Perhaps one of the more odd stories to hit the headlines on Wednesday was The Sun’s report – from a “royal source” – that Kate is already having nightmares about the big day – including one that she’s standing naked in front of a worldwide television audience of two billion for her wedding. “She finds herself in front of the congregation and then becomes suddenly aware she is completely naked,” the source told the tabloid. “There is a deathly silence – and everyone from the Queen to Prince Philip is staring at her.” While Kate’s naked dream won’t actually happen, apparently she has a very real fear she might not stay upright during her four-minute walk down the aisle. The Sun claims Kate has been loading up on protein shakes to overcome her “sheer terror” that she might faint on her way to becoming Prince William’s wife.

Pippa’s Party Problems: By now, most people know that Kate’s parents run an online business called Party Pieces, so it should come as no surprise that the bride’s sister, and head bridesmaid Pippa, has some strong ideas when it comes to Friday’s big after-wedding bash. According to The Daily Mail, those ideas are causing a pesky problem as the Palace is aghast over some of Pippa’s plans – in particular, putting disco balls, or as the paper calls them, “glitter balls,” in the throne room. “Pippa’s choice of turning the throne room into a nightclub set-up… went down like a lead balloon with Palace aides, who tried to have it stopped,” a source told the paper. Luckily, Prince William came to the rescue, insisting he wanted his after-reception party to be different from the one being thrown by his grandmother, The Queen. “He wants to it be very young and cool, so the old guard caved in and gave their approval,” the source added. Rock on Will!

Saying Goodbye: Kate and William have parted ways. The couple, who live together, may have a wedding rehearsal still left to go, but they won’t have much time for pillow talk before Friday as the Mirror revealed they are now sleeping in separate beds. Prince William has gone home to Clarence House while Kate is at her parents’ home in Berkshire. The paper reported that Wills will opt for a “quiet” final night as a bachelor, to be spent with his brother, Prince Harry, who is, of course, serving as his best man. Kate’s Wednesday evening will be with her folks, before the Middletons move down to the Goring Hotel, where she’ll spend her last night as a single lady. “Of course they are nervous and they have been using recent time to take stock and talk each other through the day,” a source told the paper of how the couple is getting ready for April 29. “They are very much in love and can’t wait to be married.”

Closed For Business: For those hoping to head to London in the remaining moments leading up to the Royal Wedding, a sad sight awaits – Westminster Abbey is officially closed. It was at the end of the business day on Tuesday that a final prayer was said in the historic church and it was sealed it off from the public so preparations can take place for Prince William and Kate Middleton’s big day. And just hours later, at 4:30 AM on Wednesday, close to 1,000 military personnel took part in a dress rehearsal. Horses, carriages and some of Prince William’s military friends were part of the walk on the wedding route. The bride and groom will do their own run-thru on Thursday, Britain’s Sky News reported.
