Ryan Reynolds On Playing Shirtless Character In Animated Feature The Croods

Even in his new animated film, “The Croods,” Ryan Reynolds can’t get away from being shirtless.

“Yeah, [my character] Guy is incredibly shirtless,” Ryan told Access Hollywood at the premiere of his new animated feature in New York City on Saturday.

“I remember saying that to [Dreamworks CEO] Jeffrey Katzenberg the first time I saw the drawing, I was like, ‘Really Jeffrey? Really? If we do a sequel, let’s throw a shirt on him,’” Ryan continued. “And then they’ll just take the pants off.”

In the film, Ryan plays Guy, a young man The Crood family encounters after their cave home is destroyed, opening them up to a new world (one that is actually being destroyed!).

Emma Stone is the voice of Eep Crood, while Nicolas Cage voices family patriarch Grug Crood.

On Saturday, Ryan revealed he actually only just met Nicolas.

“I just met Nick Cage [on Friday], which was amazing. I hadn’t met him [before],” Ryan said. “We’ve been working together on a movie for two and a half years, been fighting with him [as the characters]!”

“The Croods” hits theaters on March 22.
