Blake Lively may want to sharpen her culinary skills. Ryan Reynolds says pal Jake Gyllenhaal has a slight edge over her in the kitchen.
The actor revealed on Thursday's "Good Morning America" that he and his "Life" co-star clicked while filming the upcoming space thriller together, and now they're "hanging out all the time."
Apparently, the pair's favorite activities include at-home cook-offs with Ryan's longtime love.
"Blake, my wife, is very good at cooking, and Jake might be just a little bit better," Ryan confessed. "He can throw down. It gets very competitive between the two."
Ryan explained that his friendship with Jake is different than that of other co-stars, with whom he didn't have a lasting connection off-set.
Calling Jake "one of my favorites," Ryan went on to praise the Oscar nominee as "easily the most interesting actor working in Hollywood today" and "one of the kindest guys ever."
Jake had heartwarming words of his own to share during an appearance on BBC's The One Show earlier this week, echoing Ryan's sentiment that a bond like theirs doesn't come along often.
"He's a wonderful man," he said of the "Deadpool" star. "It's rare in our industry to meet someone, a contemporary, and there's no competition … There are just some friends you meet at a certain time in your life."
When "GMA" co-host Michael Strahan teased Ryan that Blake might not take kindly to Jake one-upping her, Ryan admitted he may have taken his admiration a step too far.
"I'm moving out at the end of the month," he joked. "I'm actually moving out right now, under this desk. I'm already making plans."
