Ryan Reynolds To Star In His Own ‘X-Men’ Movie

Ryan Reynolds will suit up and mouth off as Deadpool in his own “X-Men” spinoff.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ryan will reprise his role as the wise-cracking mercenary in a feature called “Deadpool.”

In “X-Men Origins: Wolverine,” the character known as “the merc with a mouth,” lost his ability to deliver his trademark sarcastic one-liners when his mouth was sewn shut, but he is expected to return to his mouthy roots in the feature.

Fox reportedly considered a “Deadpool” spinoff when they started making “Wolverine,” and cast Ryan with that in mind.

The “Deadpool” movie is currently out to writers.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Ryan told Access’ Shaun Robinson he’s wanted to play the mercenary for almost the last decade.

“I think he’s the most interesting, unusual, comic book character ever invented,” Ryan said of Deadpool. “He’s a guy that knows he’s in a comic book, which I think is hilarious. So he’s incredibly acerbic and has a real dark wit to him and I love that.”
