Sadie Frost Pens Memoir, Recounts Painful Split From Jude Law

Sadie Frost, the ex-wife of Jude Law, has opened up about her life with the actor in a new autobiography, “Crazy Days.”

Due out in the UK on August 6, the book details how a 25-year-old Sadie found herself drawn to a 19-year-old Jude while she was married (with a child) to Spandau Ballet’s Gary Kemp.

The two met through friends, but it was a screen test opposite each other where Sadie said she first felt that spark of attraction for the star-in-the making.

“After the test, as I left the room, I felt a weight pressing on my heart. I tried to cut the weight loose but I couldn’t,” she wrote in the book, according to Britain’s Daily Mail, which published excerpts from its pages. “It was an unshakable and unwelcome premonition — like being confronted with the juicy apple in the Garden of Eden. I felt it was my fate to spend the rest of my life with Jude.”

Sadie said the pull of Jude was strong and she eventually fell for him.

“The force of the love I felt for Jude and his intense ambition made me feel out of control,” she wrote.

Sadie eventually divorced Gary and took up with Jude. She discovered she was pregnant with Jude’s child – the couple’s first between them – the year after she split from Gary. It was after having Rafferty that Sadie wrote she developed and was treated for post-partum depression, a condition that took a major toll on the couple’s relationship.

“Jude tried to understand, but the more we had to socialize at grand dinner parties in Hollywood, the more I felt my self-esteem slipping away,” she wrote. “The more I worried about my condition, the more self-obsessed I became and the less attention I gave to Jude.”

Eventually, the couple’s marriage fell apart, something Sadie said she realized following a vacation in Thailand.

“I asked him if he loved me but he didn’t need to reply – I knew the answer. The moment had arrived and I knew the relationship with the man I loved was over,” she wrote.
