Sandra Bullock Opens Up About New Daughter Laila: ‘We Were Always Making Room For Her’

Three definitely isn’t a crowd for new mom Sandra Bullock!

The Oscar winner gushed to Access Hollywood about her newly adopted daughter Laila, telling Liz Hernandez at Wednesday’s People Choice Awards that the little one was already part of the
family well before she arrived.

“It’s like she’s always been there,” Sandra said of the 3-year-old, who had been in foster care in her home state of Louisiana before being taken under the actress’ wing.

According to Sandra, Laila’s big brother Louis, 5, couldn’t be happier to have a new sibling.

“It’s like he’s been waiting for her. Nothing has changed and everything has changed, but it’s not different,” the star told Access. “I don’t know how to explain that. It’s like she’s always been
there, or we were always making room for her and waiting for her.”

Laila has also demonstrated star quality, Sandra added, and could have a possible future in
show business.

“It’s louder,” the 51-year-old smiled, when asked how the household dynamic has changed since Laila came along. “It’s so much louder, because she’s got a voice that carries. She’s going to be a
singer, or a judge. … Someone who commands a room with her voice.”

The star, who voiced “Minions” villain Scarlett Overkill, went on to explain how having kids has changed her career, particularly when it comes to choosing movie roles.

“If it were up to my son, I’d be doing nothing but LEGO movies and Batman,” Sandra joked. “I keep looking for the films he loves, and apparently there’s no need for me.”

Hopefully, she continued, Laila’s potential taste will prove a better fit.

“Maybe now they’ll be a need for me in the films that she likes,” Sandra mused. “‘Frozen,’ they seem to already have that down, so I’m going to find something. … You want [your kids] to be able to at
least see something you’ve done.”
