Sara Evans, the country cutie who quit “Dancing With the Stars” in Season 3 over a divorce battle, is engaged.
The singer, known for her hits including “A Real Fine Place To Start,” is happily gearing up to wed Jay Barker, a rep for Evans confirmed to People.
“The couple are enjoying their engagement and look forward to their upcoming nuptials,” the rep said.
Barker was a quarterback for the University of Alabama. He helped the Crimson Tide team win a National Championship in 1992. He is now a sports radio host in Alabama.
Evans was previously married to Craig Schelske, with whom she has three children.
In 2006, Evans became embroiled in a heated divorce with Schelske, which led to her leaving “Dancing” mid-way through the competition. The two both levied nasty allegations of adultery in the divorce, which was finalized last year.
