Sarah Jessica Parker Reacts To News Of Kristin Davis’ Adoption Of Baby Gemma Rose

When Kristin Davis revealed the name of her adopted baby daughter last week – Gemma Rose – the name struck a chord with many “Sex and The City” fans, and even series star, Sarah Jessica Parker.

Rose, after all, is the name of the baby Kristin’s “SATC” character, Charlotte York Goldenblatt, had in the first big screen installment of the HBO franchise.

“That occurred to me,” Sarah Jessica Parker smiled, when asked about the coincidence by Access Hollywood on Monday.

“But it’s a beautiful old-fashioned name, and Kristin is a really old fashioned girl,” Sarah Jessica continued. “She’s a southern-raised kind of… She has a real traditional streak, so I think it’s a beautiful name… It’s nice.”

SJP hasn’t yet seen Kristin’s own baby girl yet, but she’s over the moon for her longtime co-star and friend.

“She lives in Los Angeles and I live here [in New York], so I’ve not met her [baby] yet, but I’m so happy for her and I just could not be happier for Kristin,” the star told Access. “It’s a wonderful situation. I know she’s wanted to have a family for a long time and she deserves that unique kind of happiness that children bring and I’m so happy for her.”

As for Sarah Jessica, she has her own new arrival on the way – in the form of Season 2 of her series “Work of Art,” which premieres October 12 at 9/8 C on Bravo.

“I’m really excited,” Sarah Jessica said about the return of her show, a reality TV competition series, based around emerging artists. “I’m still kind of in disbelief that we found a home for a show about art, because it was not necessarily something that people cottoned to immediately.

“I’m so thrilled that we got to have a second season,” she added.
