Sarah Jessica Parker: ‘The Carrie Diaries’ ‘Will Be In Excellent Hands’

The original Carrie Bradshaw is giving her blessing to the younger one.

Access Hollywood caught up with Sarah Jessica Parker at the premiere of her new film, “I Don’t Know How She Does It,” in New York City on Monday night, where she shared her thoughts on reports that “The Carrie Diaries,” a prequel to “Sex and The City,” is coming to The CW.

“I think it’s wonderful that people want to hear Carrie’s story, and I understand,” the actress told Access.

“Peter Roth, [President of Warner Bros. TV,] is smart and wonderful and funny and I’m sure it will be in excellent hands,” Sarah Jessica continued.

On Monday, multiple reports surfaced claiming the “Sex and The City” prequel series is being developed by “Gossip Girl” producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage and could end up on the air by next fall.

As of now, HBO series creator Darren Star and star Sarah Jessica Parker are not attached to the project.

A rep for The CW declined to comment when contacted by Access Hollywood on Monday.
