Sarah Palin’s Eldest Son, Track, Marries High School Sweetheart

Forget Governor and former Vice Presidential candidate – Sarah Palin has a brand new title: mother-in-law.

The politician’s eldest son, Track, recently tied the knot with Britta Hanson, his high school sweetheart, according to People.

“Our families couldn’t be happier!” the Hansons and Palins said in a joint statement to the magazine. “These are two hard working, humble, active, studious young adults who grew up together. We’re tickled that after two decades of friendship we proudly witnessed their marriage, knowing their new life together will be blessed.”

The newlyweds reportedly began dating in high school and continued their relationship when Track was stationed overseas as an active member of the U.S. Army in 2008.

Track – currently an Army Reservist – reportedly plans to study at the University of Alaska later this year. His new bride, Britta, is a nursing student at the same school.

While the couple’s recent ceremony was an intimate affair, Track and Britta are planning a grander celebration this winter at Alaska’s Alyeska Ski Resort with “extended family and friends from the Lower 48 [who] can travel north for a long ski weekend,” the joint statement to People noted.

It’s the first marriage for any of Sarah and Todd Palin’s five children.

Daughter Bristol was previously engaged to Levi Johnston, with whom she has a 2-year-old son, Tripp. However, the two called off the engagement just weeks after announcing they were engaged in 2010.
