Scandal: Tony Goldwyn Says Season 3 Premiere Is ‘Shocking’

The jaw-dropping Season 2 finale of “Scandal” left fans with a giant cliffhanger and Tony Goldwyn (Fitz) says the ride is just beginning – Season 3 will be just as insane!

“[‘Scandal’ creator] Shonda [Rhimes] has pushed this to a whole other level,” Tony told Access Hollywood at the 13th Annual InStyle Summer Soiree. “The [Season 3] premiere is shocking in what is revealed!”

The actor said the drama, which centers around political crisis manager Olivia Pope (played by Kerry Washington) will be rife with new twists when it returns to ABC in the fall.

“It starts to explore a whole new direction of our world,” Tony explained. “There’s no repeating what’s been done in Season 1 and 2.”

As for the Season 2 finale cliffhanger (SPOILER AHEAD if you aren’t caught up!), Tony said the truth about Liv’s relationship with her CIA boss father will be revealed and explained.

“Absolutely. You will find out much more about that and get deep into that,” he said.

“Scandal” returns with its Season 3 premiere on October 3 on ABC.
